My stay at Hotel Shwe Gone Daing had its ups and downs. The location was great for exploring local attractions like Shwedagon Pagoda, and my room was spacious with very hot water. However, the cleanliness left much to be desired, and I picked up on a rather uncomfortable vibe hinting at its dual purpose. Overall, I can't say I'd recommend it. 🙁

Rooms
5.0
I had a deluxe room on a high floor, and it was quite spacious, but the overall cleanliness wasn't satisfactory. The television was placed quite far from the bed, making it hard to enjoy. The bathrooms felt worn down, with mold present.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and tried their best to communicate, which I appreciated. However, they seemed a bit shy, possibly due to the language barrier.
Location
6.0
The hotel is centrally located near several attractions, which I liked, but the traffic makes it hard to get around easily.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was decent, with an omelette counter, but not really excellent. Dinner at the Monalisa Restaurant was a highlight as the food was reasonably priced and delicious.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities included room service and a spa, but the internet was often unreliable. Additionally, the presence of a diesel generator was noted for short power outages.

My stay at Hotel Shwe Gone Daing was a mixed bag. The rooms were clean and well-furnished, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, I faced issues with noisy surroundings and unreliable internet, which significantly affected my experience. 😕

My room was well-furnished and surprisingly spacious, definitely a plus. However, I was initially offered a room that reeked of smoke, prompting a quick switch to a more acceptable space.

The staff was friendly and eager to help, although their English skills were limited, which might lead to some misunderstandings.
Location

The hotel is unfortunately located in a busy area with heavy traffic. While it's near some tourist spots, getting around can be quite frustrating.

The dining options were modest. I found the breakfast to be merely okay, lacking variety after 7:30 AM, though I did appreciate the omelette station.

Facilities were decent, but the Wi-Fi was unreliable, which made it difficult to stay connected. There were also some construction noises I had to deal with.

My stay at Hotel Shwe Gone Daing was a mix of highs and lows. While I found my deluxe room spacious and well-furnished, the Wi-Fi was a constant struggle, and the noise from the surrounding area made it difficult to relax. The inconvenience of its location, combined with some persistent issues during my stay, left me feeling unsure about returning.

6.2/10

I had a decent stay at Hotel Shwe Gone Daing, especially since I booked a deluxe room on a high floor. The room was spacious and well-furnished, and the hot water was impressively reliable-much better than some five-star hotels. However, the Wi-Fi was quite frustrating, often disconnecting, and I noticed some ants in my room. The restaurant on the first level was a highlight, providing reasonably priced meals, though breakfast could be improved.

Rooms
7.0
My deluxe room was huge and well-furnished, although the TV was a bit too far away from the bed. I appreciated the ceiling height and the modern design, yet I did encounter some ants during my stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit, always trying their best to accommodate my needs. However, some struggled with English.
Location

The hotel is very centrally located, within walking distance to many attractions like Shwedagon Pagoda. Despite the central position, the surrounding area felt a bit lacking in amenities.
Dining

Dining at the Monalisa Restaurant was a pleasant experience; I enjoyed my dinners there, and the breakfast had an omelette counter that I appreciated, though it wasn't amazing.
Facilities

The hotel offered basic facilities like room service and tours/ticket assistance, but I had hoped for better Wi-Fi connectivity, which was quite poor in my room.

My stay at Hotel Shwe Gone Daing was a mixed bag. While my room was large and well-furnished, the noise from construction work made it hard to relax. The food was decent, but the service could use some improvement, especially with the wifi issues I experienced.

I got a deluxe room, and it was spacious with a high ceiling. However, the lighting was poor, making it difficult to work. I also dealt with ants in my room, which was pretty annoying.
Service
5.0
The staff tried their best to be friendly and helpful, but the reception service was pretty pathetic, often just saying yes without resolving issues.
Location
5.0
The hotel is centrally located, close to several pagodas, which was a plus. But the traffic around the area can be awful, making it less convenient.
Dining
6.0
While the breakfast wasn't excellent, it was decent enough. The Monalisa Restaurant had solid meals, and I ended up eating there often.
Facilities

The hotel had some nice facilities like a spa with decent treatments, but I struggled with the wifi, which was a letdown.
